Will those hundreds of thousands out there who made the apparent mistake of getting the new Macs with Nvidia cards ever be permitted to play CoD: Black Ops properly?
Hopefully more people will just buy the game, today there were only 26 people TOTAL playing it...that made for about 2 servers...![]()
nVidia driver fixes are very close, they just haven't been rolled out yet. A LOT of hands have to touch this stuff before it goes live. I wish it were just a switch, but it's not.
We have the new driver in the lab and performance is MUCH better once applied. Until then however, we just aren't comfortable supporting the performance on the 650m.

honestly, mac port is just terribly made. it's even worst than PC version. why do you have to play it on your mac? I think that you just do better play PC version on bootcamp. it's much better. as a matter of fact, it's windows which takes advantage of DirectX 11. for gaming, pure mac version is just bad.
Have you purchased and played the Mac version for a fair number of hours to evaluate its quality? If so, can you be specific about the ways in which you find it lacking? Saying it is terribly made is not helpful. That does not tell me anything.
How is playing this particular title much better on Windows in bootcamp? Please, be very specific. Keep in mind, I do not care about DirectX 11. If the game looks as good as a well made DX9 title, I'm sure I'll be pleased enough.
You say for gaming, pure Mac version is just bad but you never explain your point of view. Let me explain mine. I prefer to game in OS X. I like not having to reboot the computer to play a game. I would prefer not to run windows at all and especially not to pay over a hundred dollars for it. I am glad Apple made this possible and I have used it when there is no other alternative but it certainly isn't my preference.
My next Mac will probably not have any windows on it at all. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of Aspyr and Feral along with Blizzard Entertainment, there is plenty of good gaming to be had right on OS X.
I guess I could ask you, why do you want to run a game in windows on your Mac when you could run it natively and not have to bother with that?
Yay! Aspyr now lists that they supports Macs with the NVidia GT 650m since the 2.0 update Apple recently released![]()

Hey Blair,
Any news on this front? Are you close to releasing the drivers?
Cheers!
