Will BlackRa1n jailbreak v3.0 on a 3GS?

Will BlackRa1n jailbreak v3.0 on a 3GS or do I need to upgrade to 3.1.2 first then use BlackRa1n? I know that PurpleRa1n is still available but I wanted the simplicity of the BlackRa1n jailbreak and the ability to install "Rock" and uninstall BlackRa1n from the iPhone. I also wanted to preserve the ability to "unlock" my phone at a later date.

I do not believe blackra1n jailbreaks 3.0. You have several options:

1) Use purplera1n to jailbreak 3.0, install Rock from Cydia.
2) Use redsn0w to jailbreak 3.0, install Rock from Cydia.
3) Use PwnageTool to create a custom .ipsw without the baseband upgrade (or have a friend with a Mac make one), shift-restore using this firmware, and install Rock from Cydia.
