Will Catalina take up less space than Mojave?

Couldn't find this by searching, I was just wondering if it will, because currently Mojave is taking up 27GB out of my 256GB SSD.

I'm sure in the past major OS updates have reduced sizes, iirc it was once mentioned in a keynote.

I don't know about the final released version of Catalina, but the Public Beta version is around the same size as Mojave, perhaps a bit larger. However, you can't really tell since it's a beta right now and may have more fluff than the final released version.
