I'm changing my email address which is currently being used for my Apple ID. If I change my Apple ID using this site https://appleid.apple.com, will I lose all of my iTunes, and App Store purchase histories, and will I still be able to play my iTunes DRMed content?

Nope. I did this over a year ago and no issues. I changed it from @gmail to @outlook and all is good.

I have heard of people having issues with their iPhones where the old Apple ID will pop up asking to log in or something (not sure of the actual issues). My wife just changed hers too when she got the new iPhone 6. I had her change it then because she was going to set up as new anyways, this way she was downloading all her apps under the new Apple ID and no issues at all.

UPDATE: I changed my ID yesterday and everything seems to be working perfectly. Just sign out of all of your devices, and computers before you change the ID, and sign back in with the new address after you change it. All of my Notes, Contacts, iMessages, Purchased apps etc were all still there.

One note, I still have some old DRMed iTunes songs, and I tunes prompted me to sign in with my old Apple ID to authorize them, just ignore that fact that it's asking for your old ID. Authorize them with your new ID and they will play just fine.

Todd, it's now been a while since you did the above. Can you still confirm all is working well, and especially that authorising with the new ID worked, and still causes no issues.

I have to do the same, and don't have the old ID anymore, soooo :)

Thank you in advance and a wonderful Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Hey Thomas! Any news? I recently changed my Apple Email and ID and I'm worried I will lose years of purchased music!
