Will CS6 Master Collection work well on the low end Mac Mini with 8gb of RAM?

It's the only Mac I can afford with CS6(which I get for $600) using my financial aid. I'm starting to think I may suck it up and go Windows. I don't want to do that though because my classes will all be on Macs.

I have a Mac Mini base model, bought it last Sunday. It has 8Gigs RAM and a 60Gb SSD, and I have CS6 Master Suite, and it absolutely flies. Was using Adobe Illustrator and the load didn't go above 12%!!

It is a brilliant machine.

Good to know. I was a little worried. Mostly about the HD 3000.

the way I understand CS, it is very disk and processor intensive, and doesn't rely on the gpu hardly at all. So i don't think you need to worry about the HD3000 at all.

Yup, newer versions of Photoshop are starting to use the GPU more (especially if you get into the 3d aspects) but for general use most graphic design type work is going to be CPU driven.

I have just returned my second iMac...

2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
2560 x 1440 resolution
8GB memory
1TB hard drive1
AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 512MB

I upgraded to Illustrator CS6 but had annoying screen lag when panning in comparison to my 4 year old PC running Illustrator CS3. The first iMac was thought to have had a hardware fault but after receiving the second it was no better: I couldn't afford to buy such an expensive computer with worse performance that I had been use to.

I am a bit at a loss now as I want to get a Mac. I wanted a Mac Mini originally but bought the iMac for a bit of extra power... well... er.. umm?

Any advice would be very helpful.

Photoshop CS6 is slow and laggy on my mini (2.7 i7, AMD, 7200HD, 16Gb RAM).

Hopefully Adobe will sort it out.

I find CS6, at least for PS, a lot snappier than CS5. I'm running an 8 core 3,1 Mac Pro, but only have 8 gigs of RAM.
