Will DDR3 PC12800 1600MHz RAM Work on 2012 MP 5,1?

I know that DDR3 PC10600 1333MHz registered ECC dual rank RAM is specified for 2012 3.33 6-core 5,1 MP but is it possible to use similar DDR3 PC12800 1600MHz RAM instead? Will the faster RAM work but just run at the slower 1333MHz speed? Thanks for your advice.

Still wondering if anyone knows if 1600 RAM will work in a MP 5,1? I'm having trouble finding suitable 1333 RAM. Thx!

What country are you in? I'll find you suitable RAM. Yes though, it should work and down clock.

I'm in California. Everyone says they're out (including SuperBiiz) due to the Hynix factory fire in China. Can't even find Samsung RAM. Thx!

These boys have the proper ram for your machine you could try OWC as well but I have found they have cheaper prices than them and have never had a problem with the ram I got here.
