Will downloading Catalina from the App Store get the latest version?

So if I were to redownload Catalina from the App Store now would it download the latest build just released 10.15.1 or shall I wait a few days?

Is there a way to verify the version number before I try to create a bootable USB Flash drive out of it?

But that doesn't tell me if the ISO is actually Catalina 10.15.1

Just tried downloading it and it's downloading 10.15.1:

The info screen for Catalina, in the App Store, shows that the download that you should expect would be version 10.15.1. I guess there's one good way to find out...

Yes, it does. That is how I had to upgrade my patched 10.15 on a mac pro 5,1. I downloaded the full installer, created a new patched installer, and installed over the 10.15 and i worked fine, keeping all settings etc.

Yes, when one downloads the full Catalina Installer, it is V10.15.1. I just did yesterday on my Mac Mini, and earlier today on my MacBook Air.
