I am headed to Prague for Christmas and saw on Apple's web site they sell factory unlocked iPhones. I am a T-Mobile customer in the US and was wondering if the the iPhone purchased there will work with the carrier frequencies here?

You may also have difficulties with MMS and tethering, although I expect that a carrier file for MMS would be available from somewhere.

MMS works fine on my Italian factory-unlocked non-jailbroken 3GS using T-Mobile. Tethering does not work now that Apple requires signed mobileconfig files to enable it, alas. (If I'm really desperate, I can always get out my old unlocked Sony Ericsson and move the SIM.)

Here's what I use. I have the "T-Mobile Total Internet" add-on to my voice and message plan (cellular data + hotspot, though my rate is grandfathered in AFAIK as they split it up differently now).

Yes, with Tmobile you wont be able to connect to 3G though. Just 2G and wifi for data.
Everything else will work besides 3G and visual voicemail.
I don't get it, why does the iPhone not work with T-Mobile? Over here in NL iPhones do work with T-Mobile.
