As I was sitting in my lounge last night with my netbook on my lap, watching ITV catchup programmes and Channel 4's also, it occurred to me that if I ditch my netbook, I will no longer be able to do this will I? I remember having to load flash before I could watch them last year. For me, watching programmes I have missed is a major thing I need the ipad to do if I am to ditch other electronic devices in my home. If I purchase one in March, might I be able to add Flash to it perhaps by Christmas? Will it be something that can be downloaded as an extra? Or will I need to wait for a brand new ipad a year or two down the line before this is available? Or might it never be available? What do you all think?

ITV could update their player to work on the iPhone, just like the BBC have done with the iPlayer.

More chance of that happening than Apple adopting Flash.

Aha, I hadn't thought of that. I hope so! Mmmm, it's just more tempting then!

Only if someone jailbreaks the iPad and provides a true Internet browser. Steve Jobs has refused to add Flash to the iPhone. He promised a true Internet experience on the iPhone. This hasn't happened and it's not going to happen with the iPad. Just hope for a good jailbreak browser.

LOL! You will NEVER get Flash. Apple wants to protect their revenue stream from the Appstore. THINK for a moment--with Flash, people could avoid the appstore for lucrative games the appstore provides access to. Apple will protect it's appstore at any "cost". FORGET FLASH--Apple won't allow it.
