I skateboard with my iPhone in my pocket all the time..and Im just concerned if like vibrations from rough roads or when I do certain things on my skateboard I land pretty hard.
Will the impact of those landings affect my phone within time?

iphones have solid state drives in them so they shouldn't care about being jostled about in your pocket. But if you drop the iphone or land on your iphone after wiping out on your skateboard then be prepared to kiss it goodbye.

would you skateboard with a piece of glass in your pocket

think about that for a few seconds

yeah dude get a pre paid phone then just stick your sim card in it...

why risk your iphone?

thanks allot for ur help.I will rethink this twice before riding my board with my iPhone again.
I really should not be risking it anyways.

haha yeah good call

It really is up to you

I think if you are merely skating for transportation its ok to have your iPhone in your pocket

If you are doing any kind of trick skating, grinding, or anything where there is a possibility of falling , I would highly suggest you leave your iPhone at home.

Lol? I think the OP asked the wrong question.

He's asking for damage from vibrations from bad road surfaces. How about asking if falling off and the phone getting damaged.

And unless your pocket is lined with metal I don't think vibrations are going to damage anything. Your pocket is made from some soft material, something which absorbs vibrations, plus having knees that bend also absorb vibrations.

I knew that if I ever fell with it that it would be done.If Im just riding somewhere I put it in my pocket.some roads are rough, that's why I was worried about the vibrations.
I would not try any crazy tricks on it like grinds of gaps.but I do certain things that I land on my skateboard pretty hard, that's why I was worried about hard impact landings.i rarely ever fall LOL.
Especially not with my iPhone In my pocket.
Thanks for the great advise.

My first Gen SIM card pops out if dropped even small distances

I have dropped my 1st gen a few times and the SIM card has popped out far enough to "lose" the connection to the phone. If I push it back in, things work fine. Given the plastic case on the 3G version, I betting that it would not be a durable as the metal shell on the 1st gen.

The best thing is not to drop it. I would definitely get a screen protector ... my phone slid on concrete face down. Only the screen protector got scratched.
