I have OS X 10.11 (15A282a) which is the GM release candidate. I'm not seeing anything in App Store under updates and purchases just says OS X El Capitan GM candidate (dated 18th August).

I left the beta program after getting this version.

Should I expect an update or is the version I've already got the same?

You won't recieve an update, but you will have to download and install the release version when it comes out.

The final release is not necessarily bit-for-bit identical to GM/release candidates, so it is usually a good idea to install the release versions when they come out.

As mentioned it will be a full download from the app store, just go into the purchases tab and grab it.
