YouTube via Safari? That doesn't work. Use the YouTube application on the phone. And unless you have some kind of data package on your account then yes it will charge you. It'll be free on WiFi however.

They are referring to whoever you get your mobile service from.

Whether you have a data plan or not will determine whether you get charged. If you don't have a data plan and you're trying to get to YouTube from somewhere other than a Wi-Fi network, you will get charged. And it can be expensive.

Cheers.

YouTube Mobile is the same as any other data (like downloading email and such). So if you have unlimited downloading for email, etc. then you should be fine.

Also, you'll need to use the iPhone YouTube app, as the YouTube Mobile on Safari just brings you to the YouTube app anyway.

You're supposed to be on the $19.99 data services plan for smartphones, not either of the T-Zones plans. If you're on that plan, you can use whatever you want. If you're on the T-Zones plan with some hack to make the iPhone use it, you have to manage the risk that you are using it outside of the terms of the service, and may possibly suffer some repercussions for that.

T-Mobile is significantly less expensive than AT&T even with the $20 data plan. I don't see why people have to be so cheap as to insist on trying to sneak under the T-Zones plans....

You asked about Safari, and you posted in the iPhone forum. Are you talking about tethering a computer and using Safari, or are you talking about using an iPhone?

If you're using an iPhone, T-Mobile will happily put in any "fake" smartphone in your account so that you can get the appropriate data plan.

As for the T-Zone account, you probably may not get charged, but all kinds of unsavory things such as being charged for data services or having your account canceled could happen.

so i have to call them and tell them in using a iphone..and i want a smartphone account? so my minutes is going to change aswell because i thing they offer diffrent mins for smart phones..

so it was best in the first place that i should of got a smart phone not razor that offers not much as a smart phone whould....

and you say that they could cancle my account because they know i have a iphone and have a razor and using it for a iphone..and they know that im being cheap..

Dunno. I've heard of other providers doing it, but I haven't heard of T-Mobile doing it. But yes, they would be entitled to do it. If you call them, they can help you get everything set up, if you decide to get a normal data services account -- you can just add the $20/mon onto the plan you have now. Or I guess you can just run the risk and see what happens. :)
