Since the last time I synced my iPhone with iTunes, my portable hard drive failed and I lost all my music. However, I want to install the 2.1 software update. I deselected the automatic sync option in iTunes.

Does anyone know if the songs on my phone will disappear with connecting my phone and running the update? I use the iPhone as my primary mp3 player so it would be a significant loss for me.

Thanks.

Yes. You will lose anything that is on your ipod.

You need to remove the songs first using senuti.

When you do transfer them back and import them back into itunes, it would be a good idea to back up your music. best of luck.:apple:
