Will iBooks be available on iPhone?

I've been trying to find this out since iBooks was announced. I like the Kindle app on iPhone, as well as the Mac version. The iPad version looks great.

I haven't seen anything anywhere about iBooks being available for iPhone or Mac, which seems kind of dumb to me. With Kindle's iPad app, Amazon now has a big advantage with the ability to read on multiple devices. I know computers and iPhones aren't the best readers around. But I always have my iPhone, which means I would always have my books.

If I was a betting man... and I am... I'd bet apple will leave iBooks out there for just the iPad for a while, and then release it for the iPhone. To get iPhone/iPod users to upgrade to the iPad as an "e-book reader" before they give that functionality to everyone.

I was thinking the same thing. I think I may still stick with Amazon unless I see some compelling reason to clutter up two different reader apps. It may be iPad 2 before I can get one, and reading books on an iPhone isn't that bad. That would also give time for enough iPhone owners to complain about paying even more for 3G without a discount (c'mon, AT&T!) and enough time for me to afford a 3G version with more storage. I don't want to throw that much money out on a big device with just 16GB. Maybe I should just attach a 2TB hard disk to the back.

I would agree if it's only as an ebook reader. But I'm also interested in how it will do news content since the future of my job may depend on it.

I honestly don't know much more about what I would use it for. I'd like it to function as a digital photo frame on my kitchen counter, but that's all I have in mind right now. What I do know is I didn't envision using my iPhone to play games like Snood, check my bank accounts, listen to any MLB game I want to, etc.

Try using the Kindle in bed at night, really give the opposite effect. But as for this picture, turn the brightness up, it is so obviously turned all the way down.

Leaving iBooks on the iPad is fine but there should be a sync/reader (Kindle style) available for the iPhone. There are always times when you won't have your iPad but have time to kill and would like to read. For instance your not going to carry your iPad to the dentist office.
