I have come to learn of the compromises inherent in using Verizon service (CDMA) in an iPhone (no simultaneous voice and data outside of a wifi hotspot; a convoluted approach to "parking" calls to attend to another call and initiating 3-ways, etc.). I'm wondering if Yosemite's Instant Hotspot will allow me to use my MacBook Pro (mid 2012) via my IOS8 iPhone 5S. Anyone know? Thanks!

iPhone 6 on Verizon with VoLTE can do voice and data simultaneously. FYI

Do you mean create a hotspot from Yosemite's wifi where the iPhone shows up? I have a 5s and it would let me do it I believe, its listed like it should work.
