With Apple's focus on encryption and privacy, do you think PGP will ever be supported in iOS Mail app? I doubt there is a huge demand for this but it would be nice to see. Thoughts?

Don't most providers encrypt mail in transit? If you need something like PGP it might be better to encrypt before putting it in mail.

I am unaware of mail being encrypted during transit. PGP is free and takes under 5 minutes to install on your Mac. Once in place, no need to jump through hoops.

Some do, some do not. Some sorta (ie. between their own customers encrypted, but might have to go un-encrypted when going to a service that cannot handle).

There was a story recently in the tech news where the big internet companies are looking to encrypt mail in transit between all their respective services.

Highly unlikely.

Will they support encrypted email with certificates for enterprise users? Signed email? Likely at some point.

I doubt it, but iOS Mail supports S/MIME, which is somewhat similar in functionality. I'm sure there are other mail apps on the App Store which support PGP.
