Hi everyone

Will iPad Pro 11” get a mini-LED screen like the 12.9” one? Is that in the works?

I’m guessing it will. I would’ve probably gotten the 11” if it had it now as it’s the perfect size, but this 12.9” is amazing with it. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and the display is amazing, especially with hdr content. I think my wrists are almost getting used to the size/weight difference.

Many people getting the 11"? Starting to feel the 12.9 is just too large to take to places....
It is large, but just like when I got my first iPhone pro max sized phone that was a lot larger than what I was used to, I am starting to adjust to the size of the 12.9" and it’s starting to feel more normal. The display is still what wins me over on this thing. The speed is also a world of difference compared to the 10.5" iPad Pro I replaced with this. Im glad I exchanged my new M1 11" pro with this 12.9". No regrets.

I assume the 11" to get mini LED during the next iPad Pro refresh. Both Pro iPads should have mini LED. Doubt it will only be for 12.9"

How far out are we for the next 11" pro ? January?

not sure I follow you on this? the 12.9 now is mini led...
Mini led most likely will not remain exclusive to 12.9. Both iPad Pros should have same screen technology. So 11" should be getting mini LED to match the screen technology of the bigger Pro.

The usual refresh cycle for iPad Pro is around 15 to 18 months. So around June next year possibly.

100% Argeed. The 12.9” with a Magic Keyboard weights More and is thicker than a 13” MacBook Air (and can accomplish significantly less)
11” is a perfect size and Apple Is not gonna change the form factor anytime soon. Considering the Magic Keyboard.

yes, nicely said... that was the issue I have been having with the 12.9, can't do what my Air does! LOL... granted the screen in maybe a little nicer on the iPad Pro 12.9 than the Air but .... so thinking 11 PRO wold be sweet spot. Travel with an Air or PC notebook AND iPad 12.9 = pain!

Can you really tell that big of a difference on the 2021 12.9 over the 11 in terms of screen contrast and clarity?
Yes. Very much so. Especially when I’m looking at hdr pictures.
And yes, the weight and size is crazy if you are pairing it with the Apple keyboard. Fortunately for me, I don’t use it. I prefer the thinness of the way overpriced apple smart folio that doesn’t even come in leather. $99 is insane for that thing. Apple gave me 10% off but it still made it burn when I pee.

I have the 11 and it’s fantastic! To me it’s what the iPad is all about. Great portability. If you need something with a bigger screen get a laptop.

haha! yes so true, what apples charges for the magic keyboard! Agreed, for the 12.9 works better without for sure! I must say, the 12.9 is captivating!

I hope it doesn’t. Blooming at least in MY experience has been terrible.
I have the 11” M1 and I just got 2nd my 12.9” M1 replaced after returning the first one because of blooming issues.

The replacement unit has the same issue:

I hope that’s fixed with a Firmware Update, Apple’s backlight team is literally learning as they go.
