iPhone 8/Plus Will iPhone 8 now ship with IOS 12?

I have decided to go with an iPhone 8 (other models too expensive). Just wondering if it will begin to ship with IOS 12 and I should wait to order or if it will need to be updated regardless of order date?

If you buy it now, there is a chance that it will have ios 11. As Apple didn't change the storage size for the 8 model so any old stock they have will likely have ios 11.

I am doing the same. Getting a 64 GB gold iPhone 8 for my wife. I don't like the more expensive iPhone Xr because it is heavier and bigger than iPhone 8 and doesn't have force touch.
