Will iPhone have Messenger NON JAVA?

Will iPhone have Any messenger like AIM, Yahoo or MSN? And non WEB/JAVA an actual program.

i went to a local att store, the sales rep says that the iphone comes with AIM. But from all the videos I've seen, including the 20minute tour. I see no AIM/Messenger Icon?? If anyone can share some light...

Ah yes, I saw that earlier. That can work for sure, but that would be going through HTML/JAVA. I wonder if Apple will actually release AIM Messenger, Yahoo, and MSN. Of course working with the three companies to do so. I just would think it won't be the same having to go to a webpage to IM. For example Sidekick has it made so when you get a message it will make a selected noise, and same with Blackjack.

I guess we will have to see....Web based will just have it's limitations.

Apple hasn't even added MSN to iChat yet so I don't expect to see it on an iPhone any time soon.

Can you take this as an admission from apple about the ease/speed of the keyboard? The 20 minute demo did not show too much typing, and there isn't an ichat (at least that's been confirmed)

Not sure I understand

So I look at 3:09 in the 20 minute video and I see under John Appleseed's contact info is a button offering to text message. This is a standard text message rather than SMS?
Also, I also don't get all of the strong feelings about a lack of chat software. Seems to be there will be infinite Web 2.0 options put on the table within minutes of release. Right? Not to mention most major chat s/w has web enabled login and usage. Am I missing the point?

I assume its SMS.

Though remember safari is tab-enabled. So I wouldnt be surprised to see AOL/MSN/etc come out with Web2.0-based solutions that will allow you to use AIM/MSN within Safari.
