Honestly, I've heard mixed results. In my case, I use a Monster branded iCarPlay Wireless, and it works flawlessly. It charges, pauses the audio when i get a call, and resumes it without interaction... However I've also read in certain circumstances that if a ground wire or something to that effect isn't installed, or isn't installed properly, you'll hurt the phone.

Mixed bag I guess...?

Anyway, it works with my pioneer adapter. I would only be worried about plugging my iphone into some cheap*** chinese knockoff device.

P.S when you plug it in a message will come up saying it's compatible blah blah do you want to turn on airplane mode? I always hit no.

Oh! If it's with an Audi (which is the same as the VW connector) I'm perty sure they work without any issues... That means it was factory installed, grounded properly, etc.

I rarely get an interference, but seriously...no harm could go to either your iPhone or your utility. Worst case scenario: you get a little static.
