If I buy a iPod 3G (Classic), how will I handle iTunes?

I only have one computer (Macbook) with the most current version of iTunes, so I don't have another computer that I download the old version of iTunes that comes on the disc.

I'm assuming the older iPod won't work on this version of iTunes...or will it?

All iPods work on the newest version of iTunes. I have a 3G and use it all the time. Just remember, the 3G only charges over Firewire

It is not quite so old, but I use an iPod Mini still daily. You don't need much for podcasts.

I am also using a 4th Gen iPod (the one before "photo" abilities and still using a monochrome screen) with the latest version of iTunes - together with a 1st gen shuffle, a 4th gen nano and an iPhone 3G. Thank God, Apple didn't think about stopping support of any iPod (and similar) device in current versions of iTunes yet.
