Long story short.

My brother lost his Iphone, so he called up o2 and got a replacement sent to him, and got the lost phone locked/blocked... whatever they do to lost phones.

Well he now has a new iphone, and his friend just came round and dropped off his old phone, that he had found behind the sofa in his house.

He offered the old locked phone to my girlfriend, as basically an ipod touch.

We were wondering if we jailbreak it would it become usable as a phone again?

Would it unlock it to any network?

Thats good news.

Is it easy to go about?

You got any helpful links that you could direct me to?

Oh well!

Looks like my grilfriend has got herself a free iPod touch :)

Try having your brother put his new SIM in the old phone to see if it works. If not then the device is probably blocked. All would not be lost though.

You could have your brother call up O2 again and let them know he found the old phone and wants it unblocked, if it is blocked. They do this so someone who stole it wouldn't be able to use the phone, but if he says that he found it then they could unblock it.
