my wife & I thinking of setting up my sister & parents with a mac mini for Christmas. however, i have a sneaking suspicion that if new mac minis come out at MWSF, that the current ones will see a price drop. it's not a big deal if it does get here for Christmas, January is okay - I can just tell them that their gift is coming and they're really going to like it.

i'm torn cause part of me really wants to get it now, just cause i'm excited to get them set up on a mac, but i do want to get the best deal if I can.

thoughts?

*IF* they do intorduce them in January apple typicly has the older models in there sale section of applestore.com. Sometimes it may take a week or to for them to add them there. Also Im not positive that they will have them in there sale section becuase of the whole arictecture switch (but the chance of that is slim)

Id go for it now. If they do go on sale they probobly wont get marked down by more than $40 MAX

It's typical for the price to drop, but you should check the section containing the refurbished models now. Of course, the clearance models will be just a tab away from the refurbs, but, to me, refurbs are a better bet since they've already had a problem or two repaired.
