Just ordered a 2023 MacBook Pro M3 Max 16" and plan on running it with a Dell Ultrasharp 5K 120hz 40" (4025QW) curved display. Will my new MBP support this display at maximum resolution/hz? If yes, via USB C or HDMI or both?

According to Apple documentation, it should trough HDMI

  • One display up to 6K at 60Hz over Thunderbolt
  • One display up to 8K at 60Hz (or 4K at 240Hz) over HDMI

Yup, it's working through HDMI. Also it should also work with an Apple Thunderbolt cable and not the one provided by Dell. The screen quality is awesome! The build quality, not so much.
