Hi, i have a 2G iphone without receipt as it was a gift, I have the famous touch screen problem which everyone seems to solve going to the store and getting a new one...

My question is:

1. with out ticket will they do it?

2. Will they repair or give me a new 2G iphone?

Thanks!

As long as the iPhone is within the first year since original purchase, they will replace it or fix it (if it is a software problem). If it is replaced, you will get the same model as you currently have. They will often perform a software test before replacing, to see if there is any specific information regarding your problems.

All you need to do is to make an appointment with the Genius Bar before you arrive by going to the stores site at http://www.apple.com/retail

There will be no need for a receipt or purchase ticket, as the phone should be registered to you, since your service connects the phone to you.

Depends. If it has been jailbroken or any 3rd party software is installed, then they will just laugh at you. If it has been unlocked by someone other that a carrier, then you screwed. Try to see if they will service it, but you may have to activate it to get help, depends on what sort of mood the Geniuses are in.
