My primary Macbook is usually connected to power, unless I'm working from home that day. Then it's mostly on battery. I'd like for it to wake up periodically to download email and run the rules I've configure in Apple Mail. Is it possible to have it do that?
I read the description of "wake for network access" setting, but it only talks about "Imessages and other updates, to keep your applications up to date." That sounds like it is installing software updates, but maybe it includes checking email and processing said email.
Does anyone know what this setting actually does? I have it set to "only on power adapter" but I'll change it to always if that means that it will check and filter email.
Thanks!
Environment: I'm on a M1 Macbook Pro running macOS 14.2.1
