Will the new Mac Pro run with one of the gpus inactive? Just wanted to know if a present but damaged gpu can stop the whole computer from working?
If so, this is reminiscent of a printer refusing to print a black and white document, because the red ink is low. Hope this isn't a glimpse into the future.

not so weird...the 2nd GPU is compute-only and, in theory, is a bonus. (yes, i know, essential for some.)

if 1 of 2 GPUs die at some point down the road, will we have completely useless machines or ones that just run apps a bit slower? are we forced to buy a brand new GPU (if available) to replace the failed one?

i think it is an interesting question.

It won't boot with 1 gpu removed so I assume if one fails it won't do anything
