Ok So first of all this is actual keyboard I have:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/BIRUGEAR-Bluetooth-Wireless-Keyboard-iPhone/dp/B00NW6VNDM

I used to use it with my android tablets and phones for few years.
I thought I'd try it on my 10.5 iPad Pro.

Well the iPad sees the keyboard and requests I type in the code shown on screen and push enter.
I type first number then iPad says "pair unsuccessful"

I never got to type the whole code.
I tried 10 times then thought try on my android phone.
On phone first time it paired no issue.

Gonna try it on my fiancee iPhone SE and/or her 9.7 iPad tomorrow.

Any body have any idea why it failing?
Maybe the keys not detecting and it thinks I'm not typing a number?
I dunno...

Maybe the ipad has a software glitch or something like that. Have you tried Airplane mode on/off to toggle wireless services? Maybe also try a restart of the iPad to see if that helps. Best success!

I fixed it!

ok so it would not pair with my fiancee iPhone SE or her iPad Pro.

So I decided to take the keyboard apart as the pair button was kinda wonky.

So I managed to carefully slide a blade between case halves and open it up without breaking a single clip!

So now one half has a PCB with a gold pad for every key and the other half has the rubber keys with conductive backs.
now over the pair key pad was a metal dome as the pair key tiny plastic thing so no pad on its rear.
the dome had moved 5mm and was no longer on top the pair pad on PCB.
So I relocated the dome and glues in place.

I used cotton bud and switch cleaner and cleaned all the PCB pads and the back on rubber keys.

put back together and it worked!

It paired with my iPad Pro and my fiancee SE and her iPad Pro just to be sure it worked.
