If it's a FW800 model, NO.

The PowerMacs without FW800 should boot into OS 9.
 
Unless of course it's a spanking new MDD from Apple for which OS9 boot capability was reinstated after the G5 relase. Good marketing, ha?

But it also doesn't have FW800, because Apple switched back to the Rev A MDD motherboard.

The Rev. B machine was the one with the FW800 and didn't boot OS 9.
