Who knows, no one does. try searching th boards before starting new threads on questions already asked.

of course penryn will be in them. and also they will have little itsy-bitsy nuclear
reactors for the power supplies. oops! sorry, that's the next revision -- this year will only have fuel cell technology (hydrogen now will come in those little co2 like canisters like you put in your pellet gun and soda re-fizzer).

Penryn should make it into the MBPs between 4Q 07 and 1Q 08, assuming that Apple chooses to follow their current pattern and not wait for the next platform. Santa Rosa will be refreshed for the new Penryns, followed several months later by a new chipset/centrino platform which will maximize Penryn's abilities.

do u think it would be worth it buying a macbook pro now then selling it like a month or so before Penryn is released

I don't know that it will be necessarily worth upgrading down the road depending on your needs. Most people wont even utilize all the power of the current models much less one that comes out a year from now. But I bought my blackbook last May Sold it in March for $1500 with 2 gb of ram and a larger HD. I lost $300 in about a years time so you can certainly get a majority of your money back.

May i ask you for a citation for such information? I can't seem to find it.. I really hope Apple does indeed take that route. When I transfer to the university in late 2008, Im hoping to spoil myself a lil bit and get a MBP (with the student discount of course! :-D) and hopefully it will have the new centrino platform to maximize the 45nm penryn's capabilities.

I will certainly be utilizing all of the penryn's capabilities, because if AMD holds up, I will be owning the new quad core Agena processor from them, and I think it will give penryn a run for its money.

If you purchased a macbook pro now, why would you want to sell it in a few months? What would the new one do that the current version can't? You'd be losing money just to keep up with the Jones' and say you've got the "latest and greatest". I never understand that way of thinking. In the end, we'll all have something outdated...it's just not a logical move.
