When I pull out my phone from my pocket the screen is covered in pocket lint. It gets inside the speaker grill and ear piece. The lint also gets stuck around the bezel. Can small specks of lint actually end up underneath the screen and camera lens because of this?

Many of the recent iPhones have a dust and water resistance rating, so pocket lint shouldn’t be a problem. Apple has a support page that explains this topic (linked below).

From Apple:
iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 4 meters up to 30 minutes). iPhone 11 has a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 2 meters up to 30 minutes). iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have a rating of IP68 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 2 meters up to 30 minutes). iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus have a rating of IP67 under IEC standard 60529 (maximum depth of 1 meter up to 30 minutes). Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear.

The lint can build up in the charging point and interfere with a good connection, but it is easy to clear with a pin.

I wouldn’t use any metal objects like a pin in the lightning port, it’s a ‘better’ method to use a toothpick.

While waiting to get my Pro Max I went back to my old 7 Plus. My wife had it before and hated it because the speaker was so poor. I just took a cleaning towelette and cleaned out my speaker grill and it worked perfect.

Dirt, Make up, lint. Etc can easily block an already small speaker. I gently will clean mine from time to now.

I was going to say the same. I built up enough of a lint ball in my old 7 that it wouldn't charge properly. Easy to clean out, but do it carefully, ideally with something wood or plastic.

Compressed air
One of the worst things you could do. You can easily damage the speakers by doing this.

I can’t stand pocket lint and dust so I use a drawstring pouch when I pocket my phone, the ones made for sunglasses.
