I came home and plugged in my iPhone, as I usually do. It became stuck while syncing bookmarks, so I checked to see if all my applications were still running fine. Safari wasn't responding, so I closed it. It was still stuck, so I force quit iChat, too, which was also not responding. I then received a prompt saying that over 5% of my addresses were changed, and if I wanted to update. I didn't think much of it and said yes. When I reopened iChat I noticed none of my screen names had actual names associated with them. So I opened my address book and all of my contacts are gone. :(

I checked my Library\Application Support\Address Book folder and don't have a file that ends in .abcddb. I also tried to restore from my previous address book, and that also didn't work. Since I have MobileMe, all of my contacts are also gone from my iPhone. If I restore from my previous backup will it be possible to get my contacts back, or are they gone forever?

Do have mobile me? You might be able to logon to me.com to see if your contacts are there. If so you should be able to sync back to your mac.

I have MobileMe, that's how all of my contracts are gone from my phone. They are also gone from the website.

I had a backup of my AddressBook from 2007, so I restored to that, but I still have almost 2 years of numbers that are missing.

Yeah, and I did a Google search, but couldn't find anything that worked beyond those things I tried that didn't work for me.
