Do you want to return it because she dropped it and now it is not a perfect product?

it must be returned in the condition that you bought it.

Are you looking to exchange or return it?
If the former, call apple. If the latter, put it on craigslist or eBay or call target.

Ask her to drop it once more. Perhaps two dents will increase your chances

People are turning into just selfish freaks.....

It's a stupid question.

It's like asking a toyota dealership if I can have my money back 5 seconds after pulling off the lot and having someone rear end me.

Tell me what Target location you will go to and attempt a return. I'd like to call and put them on alert, to ensure that they beat you and your wife severely about the head and shoulders with the iPad 1 when you enter the building.

Either one of those. Don't ask me how I found out where he lives.

I'm not sure if he's asking if he's supposed to do it or just if he could get away with it- but in the case of having your car rear ended- chances are that's probably pretty easy to spot lol.

I'm not saying it's the 'right' thing to do, but I've never seen target open a box to check the condition of a product being returned to them... they just take the item and your receipt and process the return. I've never returned something because /I/ broke it, but I've had defective products before and they never even seem to check to confirm. That said, the iPad is more expensive than anything I've ever had to return, and just due to it's high profile they might be extra careful with taking returns on it.

so I guess the answer is...try it. If they call you on it, pretend you don't speak English, even though you were speaking English a few seconds before that when you tried to return it.

Every electronic that I have taken back to exchange or return (there aren't many but a few times over the years), they have opened the box and closely inspected. Walmart as well.

Obviously the question you should be asking is "Can I take back my wife since she dropped a new iPad" :p

Slap a case or skin on it and you will never know it was dropped. Why return it when it was not defective to begin with?

I was talking about electronics too. idk, maybe my target is just full of lazy employees...

I'm sure the guy at the counter will take it. However, regarding getting the money you paid for it back.. well that's a different story.

Returning the iPad only treats the symptom and not the problem. Your wife dropped the iPad. It didn't jump out of her hand. Did you buy the extended warranty when you got married?

guys and gals,

I decide to keep the ipad w/ me for now but still take it in to apple store as it's experiencing massive light bleed from all 4 corners..

Yeah, it sucks that I have small dent in my new shiny ipad 2 and I was pondering about it but hey let's not call me name just because I openly ponder about it(ok so since it's out in public, you are free to say whatever).

I will slab on the cover but it does suck because I told wife to be careful w/ it till I get the cover(she drop the damn thing day prior to arrival of wrapsol cover).

And No I own many apple products and none of them has dent(but maybe because I baby them like crazy(esp my new mbp) while wife uses ipad and ipod 247 but do not baby them).

If you want my advice, take it to the Apple store in a week or so when it calms down

Explain to them at a Genius Bar your problem TRUTHFULLY and see what they can do.

I dropped my iPhone4 in water and went to them with it and told them what I did. Guy goes into the back and hands me a new one and tells me not to do it again.

Heard other stories similar.

Now, considering they prob wont have EXTRA ones, it is doubtful but you never know
