Hi,

Anyone know if the EVGA Power Link will work with a Sapphire Dual-X HD 7970 ( 6 pin + 8 pin in a 4,1>5,1 cMP?

I HAVE searched Google but have yet to find a definitive answer.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it will depend on whether the card will fit within the Mac Pro and if any of the chassis of the GPU gets in the way of the Powerlink itself. But the Powerlink can definitely work with 6pin + 8pin. I'm using it in 8pin + 8pin for my Frontier Edition GPU now.

That's what I wanted to hear.

No prob. You can combine whatever power combinations on the dual 8 pin input side of the power link. Also what's great about the Powerlink is it balances the power load as well with its internal capacitors.

I'm using it to power my AMD Frontier GPU all internally while still having 4 HDDs and all PCIe slots full, alone with fully upgraded CPUs and RAM.

Useful little thing for sure.
