Will the glossy display be a problem for me?

So I'm thinking of buying the 27" imac.
I'm going to use it for web design, iphone programming/animating and video editing.
There will be days I'll stay at the computer for around 10 hours, maybe even more.
My current monitor is a 19" with an anti-glare display and in 2 years I haven't got any problems with my eyes for staring at the monitor for long periods of time.
I can provide darkness in my room by closing the courtins so that there will be no reflections, but many professionals complain about their glossy cinema display damaging their eyes if they stare at it for long periods of time.
There's no place I can go to actually see an imac so I'm going to decide whether I'll buy it or not by reading your opinions on this topic.

Please leave a reply only if you own such an imac and use it for similar tasks or know someone who does so.
 
I haven't had a problem.

I also have the iMac at a little less than half brightness. In my opinion full bright or 3/4 brightness is REALLY BRIGHT.
 
I have a 23" Acer non-glare. The iMac screen is MUCH easier on my eyes and I'm able to keep it at about 40%. It really Is a top notch display.
 
You may want to see THIS. Also, I don't recall seeing any glossy TV screen lately. Just a food for thought...

I have no problems with the 27" screen, i mainly keep it below half brightness as it does the job. its great to have the option to really brighten it though.
 
In my opinion the screen on the iMac is way better then an anti glare as far as true color and clarity.
For me, anti glare screens seem to make it a little more difficult to see the finer details. I went blind in 2006 and had surgery to restore my sight, and my eyes are a bit sensitive to bright light, so I keep the brightness at about 1/3. All I can say is the screen is gorgeous.

I agree, I think the full brightness seems to wash things out and definitely strains my eyes.
