Based on most of the rumors about the upcoming iPhone 7 it looks like it will just be a re-skinned iPhone 6s with no headphone jack.
Apparently Apple wants to make all the big changes with the iPhone 8 coming out next year (including an all around glass body?) so why bother adding any major improvements with the iPhone 7 and why bother buying the iPhone 7 as well?
Well maybe for the same reasons why people upgraded to the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE models, if rumors are to be believed the iPhone 7 will come with some serious hardware improvements and possibly additional color options.

- Thinner chasis
- Less obvious antenna lines
- New home button with 3D Touch capability
- At least one new color (looks like Apple might bring back the "Slate" color reborn as "Space Black")
- Higher resolution displays (possibly 1080p on the iPhone 7 and 2K on the iPhone 7 Plus/Pro)
- New 12-megapixel camera on the iPhone 7
- New dual camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus/Pro
- Smart Connector for accessories on iPhone 7 Plus/Pro
- Double the storage, with 32GB, 128GB and 256GB options
- Improved water- and dust-resistance
- Unfortunately instead of dual speakers the extra speaker holes might be just for decoration instead
