i want to puches an iphone and i was just wondering, i live in NJ, and I was just wondering if the iphone will service in vermont.

i go there alot

Depends on where you are. The cingular data service is very patchy in vermont. I gather by your name that you're a skier, and so probably care about the various ski areas... and down there, on the mountain is usually one bar or no service, sometimes in the towns you can get two bars of GPRS. It's on alltel's partner network, so if you really spend a lot of time there you might want to reconsider, as they can kill off your contract for roaming too much.

This happened to me with a blackberry on AT&T, I got my contract terminated (and therefore, no data service) in burlington.

Somewhat related:

Has any VT/MT resident figured out a way to get and use the iPhone? I know that you can roam in these areas if you already have a line. Last year I too was given the 'ol Cingular boot for "excessive use of partner towers" in Montana. Shouldn't this be allowed, if roaming is included in certain plans?

From the website:
"Excessive use of Partner coverage may subject your service to early termination, in accordance with your service terms. "
