Just wondering, since the new MacBook Pro's have thunderbolt will the new iMac's have thunderbolt and if so does this mean connecting a PS3 to the iMac will be made as simple as just having one cable thunderbolt/HDMI to make the iMac in to a display for playing PS3/Xbox 360?

Thanks.

Would you think we know any better than you when it comes to secretive apple stuff? There has been literally hundreds of "when will next iMac come out?" or "what will next iMac have?" topics on these subforums, but nobody knows just yet. We can only speculate.

Understandable, but the more important question (probably should of highlighted this) is if it does have Thunderbolt will this mean playing my PS3 through my iMac will be as simple as plugging one cable in and being on my way.

I understand people won't know until it's tested but I mean in terms of the technology that is provided with Thunderbolt and the fact that up to now we have needed converters for the mini display port should this fix the problem?

It can already be done with the current Mac. Neither would be able to interact with eachother, the video is just passed through.

As above, you can already use your iMac as a monitor to play a PS3/360 on.

But the question isn't whether the iMac can connect to a ps3, it's if it can connect to a ps3 without having to use an expensive adaptor.

I personally dont' see how it will be any different, so you probably still will need the convertor.
