Probably, though Samsung hasn't set any time table that I'm aware of. Also carrier certification will delay it even more. So if your in the U.S. And have a carrier version, you probably won't get it until late winter/early spring 2015 (Feb-April)

It will, probably in like 6-8 months after Android L is officially released.

The Note 2 didn't get the update till June of this year, and the Note 3 in May. Kit kat was released in October 2013. (Both for Verizon)

This is one of my biggest issues with samsung/verizon...hopefully Note 4 users get the update before May of next year.

My prediction is Samsung will rush to get an S6 ready in march/april of next year due to poor sales of the S5. This will have L and the Note 4 update will come shortly after followed by the Note 3 update. (again just a prediction for Verizon, since they like to act shady)

Edit: I see samsung claims they will push the Note 4 update sooner than they did last year, but who knows.

will the note 3 get android L update soon ?

Yes. My AT&T Note got Kit Kat in February so my guess is about then for L too.

This. Kitkat didn't have ART. All it gave us was full lockscreen album art and a white battery gauge in the notification panel. Oh and a bunch of lag too.

^^ You must have got the "special" version as for the 1,234 time, there's no lag when it's set up right.

Trust me I've been using android since its inception. I know how to set up an android device. I can't speak for anyone else but my Note 3 went from boss status on jelly bean to slow and buggy on kitkat. The update "for me" was a mess.

The fact that yours is a buggy mess is not related to the phone & OS combo. I'll toss mine out there as running perfectly smooth, no bugs and most certainly not laggy.

That it would if it already wasn't a well known fact that many a Verizon handset was experiencing similar or likewise issues. I know what you're getting at but in this instance, the handoff between Google to Samsung to Verizon was poorly done.

"You're holding it wrong"

"You set it up wrong"

It's funny the hypocrisy when describing something as silly as OS preference.

My point is simply that Notes aren't laggy nor do I believe it's simply OS related. I get there may be a link with Verizon causing it.

No lag for me either on KitKat. Maybe a defective device?

No lag? Stop lying to yourself. Every time you open a game on the note 3 on kitkat there's a solid 2 second delay before anything even shows up on the screen. It's lag plain and simple. Touchwiz devices have always done this and always will.

Tmobile Note 3's still need android 4.4.4 so I don't think they will see Google L until Fall of next year

Will the Note 3 get Lollipop ? Yes, but when ? And how will it be ?

Scamscum sucks at updates. First the Note 4 and S5 will get the 5.0 update within a couple months after Google officially releases it, with a bastardized version of Touchwiz over Lollipop  I say by January or maybe earlier the N4 and S5 get Touchwiz Lollipop.

And then older phones like the Note 3 and S4 will also get it later down the road, and if you are on a U.S. Carrier Note 3, you will have to wait even longer for them to push the update out.

But I bet my left nut, the Note 3 update will NOT look the same as the Note 4 update. Samsung are famous for that, older phones having the older Touchwiz style still. Look at right now, the S5 was released with Android 4.4.3 ? And the S5 had the cooler nicely revised looking Touchwiz, the flatter design, etc... But did the Note 3 ever get that revised looking Touchwiz to match the S5 or Note 4 style ? Nope, the Note 3 still has that nasty Gingerbread theme Touchwiz. Why haven't Samsung updated the Note 3 Touchwiz to match the same new theme / style the S5 has at least ?

The S4 and Note 3 still have the ugly outdated looking Touchwiz still, even though both phones are officially running Android 4.4.4 now, same as the S5 and Note 4. But the S5 and N4 have the newly revised better looking Touchwiz. And the S4 and n3 won't see that new Touchwiz design, why ? because of Scamscum.

I'm with you and predict next Feb or so, but who knows, it could be released a lot earlier. I know my apps have all been "updating" in masses lately and to me that speaks to their all getting ready for 5.0, IMO quickly. Seems much more so than last year for KK. That doesn't necessarily mean anything for Note 3 owners, but I'm holding out hope.

Meh...I don't think about TW as I use Nova and other apps that remove the bastardized TW interface in most all aspects.

You are right, the note 3 interface is still very much similar to the note 2 interface just in 1080p lol and a better samsung browser

Watch it. Guy says there is no lag when there a sold 2-3 second delay when opening the gallery. That is lag. That is what I'm talking about. Open a game, same thing 2-3 second delay before anything happens. If you don't consider that lag then I'm not sure what to tell you.

I see what you mean. I have my settings to force GPU rendering and set my animations to .5 and I don't get that little pause opening gallery or my games. Everything else runs buttery smooth and flawlessly with those settings. I'll try and post up a video this weekend if it helps. Seriously just try those 2 things it make a HUGE difference. It's not really "lag" it's the animations.

I never understood the issue, other android phones and even iPhones do the same exact thing. Even my Mac and windows PC's do it, the programs/apps have to be loaded into RAM. Although as I said it's minimal since I adjusted the GPU/animations, easily 1/4 of what your video showed, probably less. Yeah I can see the 2 seconds being annoying, but a quick change of the settings fixes it to be consistent with any other smartphone.

I do understand time is precious though, and those 3 minutes you will gain on your life over 50 years mean a lot.

on top of the above, change up your apps dude. stock Note 3 gallery sucks as does the dialer. replace TW with a nice launcher and ditch animations. My note 3 screams through screens, photos and apps. No lag.

It was well documented that KK was a botched update on Samsung devices for Verizon. Peoples emails stopped working on s4's, Notes started depleting battery life and the dialer was force closing etc etc. It also took 2-4 months for those people to get the update compared to the other carriers. My thoughts are that VZW botched the update.
