Hi, sometimes the name of the callers show up when they call my home phone. If I use my iPhone to call somebody, will that person know my name? If so, how to prevent this from happening?

They will know your number.
The name appears only if your number has been associated with your number.
This typically happens someone has saved your number to their contacts list, but I believe that iPhones can also retrieve this info from sources such as emails (not entirely sure about this though).
In the UK you can withhold your caller ID (your number) by typing 141 before the number that you need to call.
You can also switch this off permanently by going into Settings/Phone/Show My Caller ID/ then turn it OFF.

You can check your carrier settings. Likely through their website. As passing along a name with Caller ID is usually an option with your phone carrier.

You can try blocking your Caller ID. But with so many spam calls. A lot of people are blocking calls with no Caller ID.

So the iPhone does not automatically pass whatever name I put on the phone (I think under Apple ID) to the person I call?
