It's pretty strange, but the watch stands seem to get bigger day by day. Big chunks of Aluminium with a minuscule smartwatch tucked to the side...

In my opinion a watch-stand should put the watch in the spotlight. And there already is a perfect solution for this - charger included:

I wonder why nobody tried to source the original apple stands and just adds a nice wooden platform.

Due to the fact that there are hundreds of apple-stores, they must have been manufactured by a larger company.

Has anyone an idea where to get these only original apple watch stands?

I'd love to see these, but I also feel like installing your watch on them every night will become a pain. Notice how the strap is perfectly fastened to the circumference of the stand - doing this on the daily will be problematic and most likely abandoned by most consumers.

That wouldn't work without a bit of modification for home use because the charger is built in and a third party stand would need a way to run the cable through it... additionally, that stand is part of the table and the cable runs through the table... again, probably not really feasible for most people at home, but I'm sure someone could build something similar with a few modifications.

That said, though, it's really designed so that the band is latched when the watch is put on the stand... and I can't imagine taking the watch off every night and fastening the band around the stand, then undoing the band every morning before putting the watch on my wrist. All that extra work would get old pretty quickly. I think many of the other stands are larger to allow the straps to hang free without looking weird. I'm not sure how this one would look with the straps undone.

good point - so it needs some modification... But I still wonder where to get them...
