Like the iPad, or the Macbooks? Can the A4 handle Retina display with a bigger screen on an iPad for example?
an iPad with 326 ppi would be great for eBooks though, and it would vault the next gen iPad over other tablet computers.I doubt iPad will get a display with same ppi as that would need 3 times more pixels in iPad which would be about 1920x1080 i.e. INSANE! Possibly an improved display in next gen but not that high ppi though.
A high res screen will be found in competing phones. In fact, some were already farther along than Apple until iPhone 4 came out.
The Nexus One managed to achieve an extremely impressive 800×480, but only by using the PenTile matrix to 'cheap' by eliminating some sub-pixels, so it's not truly at the same high pixels-per-inch ratio, as there are less green sub-pixels- and the screen is bigger, to boot.
The iPhone 4's screen completely demolishes anything else out there.
Let's be honest, though- Apple blew everyone away.....
