Hey guys,

I just bought an iPad in a US store and I am crossing the border to play with this bad boy. Now I am wondering if the Canadian iPad store has launched since I only have an account under that? Can I start downloading apps etc, or is this useless for another month until they launch the Canadian store?

Or will I have to Jailbreak this to get it to work?

Mike

It should work fine. I've got a couple iPads from the US heading up here to Canada on Monday, and the iPad apps have been available to download on the Canadian iTunes store since Friday.

how do i get it to show just iPad apps? I cant figure it out?

Well even if the Canadien store doesnt list iPad apps you still have the ability to use all of the iPhone apps until they appear on your store.

Otherwise there are loads of guides around to opening an American iTunes account to have access to the US app store no matter where you are...

Will he be able to access the bookstore utilizing a Canadian account? I wouldn't think so.

Using the search will allow you to find iPad apps that can be purchased, as well as any browser iTunes App links. Most Apps are available on the iTunes Canada store. The only one's I haven't seen are some of the US Specific apps such as ABC and Yahoo.

No, the iBooks App isn't available on the Canadian iTunes Store.

I created a US account and have been buying some apps. About to start to sync them.

Guy in the store said once the Canadian iPad app store opens i could switch back... should be interesting...

Thanks guys

That's been my experience, except even specific searches do fail. For example I cannot find the Keynote app in the Canadian store, but can find a bunch of other iPad apps. It seems very inconsistent.
