I just wanted to ask because then i will be buying the iphone 3gs 16gb if not then i will be buying the iphone 3g 8gb and if you dont know do you think there will be ? Thankzz

Let me use my psychic powers to tell if the new iPhone, which isn't out yet, will be Jailbreakable immediately, later (and when), or never. Hmm, it appears... no one knows, not even the team who create the hacks.

Although, my powers are telling me something else... hmm, it looks like this was the most stupid question ever asked on MacRumors! :D

theeoretically.. their will be a jailbreak.. but will it be able to be applied to the device is another question..
it all depends on if apple changed hardware on the device to prevent the jailbreak... for example you can not jailbreak current iphones or ipods on the new macbooks because apple added hardware to the new laptops to prevent it

I hope there is no new hardware to prevent jailbreak

do you guys think there will ever be an jailbreak for the iphone-3gs ?

Thanks everyone for your replys

Eventually, there will be one. But the hardware has changed (bootrom):

Fortunately, that is absolutely impossible. I predict eight months for an unlock; five for a jailbreak.

Actually, it's very likely the unlock will come days after the Jailbreak since the baseband for the iPhone 3GS is the same as the iPhone 3G. So, theoretically, ultrasn0w should work on the iPhone 3GS.

But it's the same situation as the iPod Touch 2nd Gen, it was new hardware but eventually an exploit was found and a Jailbreak was produced from that exploit. It's very likely the same will happen with the new iPhone, it's new hardware, so a new exploit will have to be found, then a Jailbreak can be made.

what does that picutre have to do with anything?? that file u have circled is a battery image file... thats no proof...
