Well, I can't really do much with my small 13" macbook pro. (I need a bigger screen size)
So I decided to buy an iMac 27-inch.
But it is almost approaching the holidays, do you guys expect a new iMac anytime this month or in December?

You can't change your product line this close to the holiday's. You would have many unhappy people. I bought a 27 yesterday, no worries here.

Plus you'd have to worry about not having enough systems available for sale; Apple wouldn't want to lose sales because they were changing models

No. First week of November is over, Apple rarely announces anything after that. Feb-Mar is what I expect.

I'm going to buy a iMac in the next few weeks when opportunity for a refurbished model comes out but I know I will be extremely pissed if the next one will be released with the blade ssd's :D

My guess is that new iMacs will come out in either April or March of 2011. Followed by the usual speed bumps in late July or early September 2011.

For the refresed line of iMac's in the spring I would say that cheaper SSD may come as options with alrger capacities. All screen szies will most liekly see a resolution boost, bringing the lower end 21.5 inch models more in line with the current 27 inch screens now. As for the rest the features it's pretty much a guessing game.

We just picked up a 27" from the refurbished store. It was the i7 with SSD. I will probably regret it when light peak comes out in February, but then I would have to wait another few months for them to pop up in the refurbished store. Anyway, I will update in a year when the kinks are worked out...
