And by simple I mean a 1 step does all like a ZiPhone or iLiberty for 1.1.4 tool? I'm still on 1.1.4 btw.

I read all the pwnage tutorials for 1.1.4 to 2.0 then unlock/jailbreak, 2.0 unlock and jailbreak and they all seem VERYcomplicated. You have to dl this, dl that, dl custom firmware, fix bootneuter, etc. So many steps, its confusing.

Im hoping one of these days there will be a pwnage tool (or iLiberty or something) that can do everything in 1 or 2 steps to jailbreak.

Am I the only one wishing this?

I would think that anyone who wants to do something technical to their phone like jailbreaking could figure out the long way.

It keeps the less competent from jailbreaking their phones.

2.0.1 will probably be "pwned" in the next few days.

why? pwnage is far superior to "ziphone"

I was using ZiPhone as an example as a 1 step and you're done app. With pwnage, there are soooooo many steps involved. Its a bit overwhelming to a novice like myself.

Not really. Just READ.

Have you even downloaded the app and looked at it? It gives you step by step on what to do, there's even a Simple mode which is basically just hitting next until you're done.

And if you want your MAC address to be 00:5a:49:42:52:49, then use Ziphone (and by doing such, your phone can never connect to a wifi spot that is occupied by another Ziphone'd iPhone)

right, but with pwnage your not using firmware modified on the phone using stolen utilities

it's incredibly simple:

1 - make custom firmware using iphone dev teams pretty application
2 - install the firmware using itunes

Pretty much. Pwnage Tool offers step-by-step procedure and is probably the "most safe" because it doesn't rewrite the code on your iPhone (correct me if I'm wrong). Give it a try, it really only takes like 15 minutes to do. I used to be like you, freaking out about having to do the extra steps, fearing it's too difficult/too much time, but it seems like pwange tool is not difficult if you give it a chance.

Check out the 2.0.1 thread and it gives you the bootloaders (3.9, 4.6) and just download iTunes' version of 2.0.1 firmware. Pretty simple from there. DFU it (Pwnage tool shows you how to do it, step by step) and once iTunes pops up just hold alt while you press the "restore" button. 5-8 minutes later, you're good to go.

Ziphone used a security hole that Apple fixed with 2.0 and all new firmwares from now on.

Pwnage is the ONLY way to jailbreak and there can't be any other way as apple closed all other holes that would let you jailbreak.

Pwnage is simple. Just try it out. You build a custom firmware and restore and your done. Easy!
