Will there be a way found to unlock the 5s and 5c like I believe it was on previous versions?

Doubt they would focus much effort into it.
There's unlocked iPhones sold everywhere, gevey sims and 3rd party imei unlocks available that are way better than software unlocks that won't work once you update your firmware.

True but the only way to get those unlocked iPhones is to buy them full price and aren't 3rd party places charging a ton of money now to have it done?

yes, and yes

there might be hardware unlocks in the future (stuff such as the gevey sim)

what might this software unlock you used for the 4S be if not ultrasn0w?

I will retract part of what I said until I can find out for sure I didn't use ultrasn0w but I know for sure my 4s is unlocked as I've used it for a while on tmobile and never requested unlock for att etc. And I remember doing the unlock and jailbreak myself

alright. As far as I'm aware of, ultrasn0w is the only software unlock out there and there hasn't been one since the original release of the iphone 4

feel free to correct me if I am wrong

Are you sure you were not using some sort of sim interposer? It can be easily checked if----hmmm, unless it was that time when there was that SAM exploit! It wasn't a software unlock, but rather it was an exploit in how apple's server activated iphones (i don't know too much about the SAM exploit)

type in your phone's IMEI number here, does it show that it's unlocked? http://iphoneimei.info/

As I stated I've used my iPhone 4s on tmobile so yes it was unlocked and no I didn't use any physical tool such as an interposer. I am familiar with those. It very well may have been the Sam exploit as it is listed in iclarified.com and till this day that is one site I frequent often and have used for jailbreaking/unlocking when it's been available. When the 5 came out is when I switched to Verizon iphones as they offered me more options to use it with (Verizon tmobile att) and the 5s for Verizon is a dream come true as it gets lte on all three networks.

I currently also have 2 att iphone 5s on contract that I wanted unlocked that was the reason for my inquire into any possible software unlock

That is not possible.
Only of you bought an imei unlock for it.
You did not permanently software unlock your 4S cause that doesn't exist for that phone.
Sam only worked for jb devices and only if you used the same phone number and it does not work on stock firmware.

I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about it. I know what I did and the state of my iPhone 4s. Have a wonderful day....

You cant argue cause there isn't anything available like what you claim. Weather you want to admit it or not.
Maybe somehow magically you're the only person in the world that accomplished a permanent software unlock like that on your 4S.

So, everything you don't know isn't true? Hehe

I know very well what I'm talking about.
Its the OP claiming that he did something that its not possible but he's not sure how or why he is unlocked but he first claims he used ultrasnow for his 4S and then some other software unlock method that does not exist for his device.
Maybe santa clause unlocked it:D

That may be possible in one persons life in a bubble :D

Actually OP is right juiced well kind of.Youre forgetting the SAM unlock method :p

SAM was a bypass not a software unlock like ultrasn0w.

The 4S never had a software unlock.

Like stated before the last software unlock was for the IP4 1.59.00 BB and the 6.15.00 ipad BB or the 05.13.04 BB for the 3/3GS.

Ask any att-client friend to temporarily "adopt" your iPhone as his/her own, and then call customer service to unlock. They are entitled to 5 unlocks per year (for out-of-contract phones) and they have been sitting on a gold mine without knowing.

Only if the phone is out of contract !
AT&T has access to who purchased the phone - even if it was purchased in an Apple store.

This will work on out of contract AT&T phones or AT&T phones which were purchased at a no contract price.

*********************************
And "Juiced" is exactly right. The only 3 ways EVER available to unlock a 4S are:
IMEI unlock
Sim interposer
SAM unlock but only if the phone and sim card used for the unlock method stay the same (and Apple closed the ability to do new unlocks a long time ago)

There never was a "per se software" unlock
