Will there be another keynote only focused on Apple Watch?

I was wondering if before releasing it, Apple plans to show more features or some informations about the battery/release date, since we know very little of it.

Tim clearly said during the keynote there was a lot more features which they couldn't cover in time, and we could clearly see it with the quantity of apps on the homescreen.

Or at least some further thing to come yet.

Apple are busting their gut to push this product, and I think many feel there are undisclosed details they were working on.

Perhaps not a full keynote, but something for a final push before it's on sale this weekend, and running over all the cool final features, telling you about battery life, what the finished apps can do, and pricing of models.

Pretty sure all SDKs have NDAs. However once it's open to all $100 developers you can't expect the NDA to hold.

Could be on the first release Apple may offer 2 SDKs. 1 with limited APIs to all developers and one with more open APIs to 'partner' developers.

Think original iPhone launch. Announced in January, released in June. There were many details that were announced/changed during that time, but there was no devoted iPhone keynote closer to the realease. I expect this to be the same. Battery life, release date, and full price range can all be addressed relatively quietly.

The only reason Apple would ever devote significant keynote time would be if Apple had intentionally leaving out some key features until closer to launch for competitive reasons. John Gruber seems to think this is the case. I have serious doubts about that. I think any omitted/changed features would simply be because plans had changed or things moved ahead faster than expected. For example, on the iPhone the screen was changed to glass and they included a new YouTube app. These type of changes are to be expected.

Oh, and what about updated MacBooks with the new Intel chipset.. aren't they due in spring?

something like that would be feasible. But a keynote "only focused on apple watch" is unlikely.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were holding back some information. I'm not saying they definitely are but I don't think it's all that unlikely. The rate at which other companies are able to mimic what Apple does is pretty impressive. Why give them a head start? Things were very different when the original iPhone launched; the playing field is a bit more level now.

They are trying to do an event before the Grammy Awards which is February 8, to launch the rebranding of beats into iTunes music streaming service. Apple would also love to have the watch ready before Valentine's Day February 14.

So in a perfect world, Apple will hold an event on February 4 covering new iTunes streaming subscription, Apple photos app, and the Apple watch. Making iTunes streaming available on that Friday, the Apple watch the following Thursday Feb 12.

If the watch slips, it will be launched at a spring event in March with iPad Pro and MacBooks. There will not be multiple events, so my gut says the watch slips to a spring event covering everything.

I really hope they somehow meet that Valentines date.

I think they would hold a event for the apple watch or at lest show more of it off before the product comes out, I can't wait to here more for the product and what great app the developers wil make for it.

I hope they have a keynote that shows the killer feature that sets this watch apart. Because at this point, it's pretty pathetic as fitness watches go, and does nothing to differentiate itself from all of the other smart watches that have been met by the general public with a resounding, "who cares?"

If Apple doesn't re-introduce this at a keynote next year they're making a mistake. Comments from Tim Cook indicate strong developer interest and just the other day he said you'll be using it so much. If they don't have a good sales pitch ready to go that really tells/shows you why you want this device then they need to fire their marketing team.

Who knows. If they don't, they have a reason for it. Apple is great at marketing so if they deem it unimportant to do another event, it's probably the right move.
