There's already been one! But besides that the 16" is coming up 2 years old in November so it would be a very poor show for them not to update their flagship laptop... it's pushing it a bit as it is, especially given it's stuck on old Intel chips while the Air and smaller Pro are running rings around it.

Yeah I would find it unlikely that apple doesn't upgrade their lineup by the end of the year. They certainly have been working on them for a while now and I would imagine that sales of the 16 have been slowing more and more as a result of the M1 macs already being released.

I would assume that plans are being delayed due to continuing supply chain issues.

That being said, I would be surprised if we didn't see something in the next few months.

Apple has held an October/November event every year for a few years now, and it will likely do that again this year. The last time Apple updated the larger MacBook Pro was in November 2019, almost two years ago. If Apple fails to update its more powerful Macs this year, then the move to M1 may have been a little bit premature.
