Hello:

I’m really interested to get feedback from actually owners of the MacBook Air.

I’m considering a macbook air. It will most likely be stock (80GB HD), I may upgrade to the 1.8ghz.

In all honestly, the majority of my computer usage is to surf the net. I’d say 90% of the time. But I do use the following programs:

iTunes
iPhoto or Adobe Lightroom
MS Office
Safari (multiple windows)
Expression Web (via MS XP using bootcamp)
NetFlix movies (via MS XP)

How will the MBA handle these programs individually and in some cases simultaneously running?

Currently, I have a black macbook (2mths old). It’s a great machine, but I wanted the portability of the MBA. Someone is offering a good price on my black macbook, so I thought I’d put this out there…

Thanks,

VJ

iTunes- works fine?

iPhoto or Adobe Lightroom - iphoto works fine snappy

MS Office - works fine 2008 is slow the way it shipped and i use iWork but its fine

Safari (multiple windows) - no problems here

Expression Web (via MS XP using bootcamp)- dont use expression web

NetFlix movies (via MS XP) - 100% fine

right now i am running safari, ichat, iphoto, mail, itunes, and pages all at once. no lag whatsoever.

I concur, running several apps some of what are listed. I have been very happy with how fast the MBA has been -- although I was initially concerned by the negative talk about the MBA being under powered. I just don't see any real performance concerns-- maybe I spent too much time on the Windows platform.

Can you guys let me know which system you purchased? Did you get the stock with 80GB/1.6ghz, or did you upgrade?

thx

just to make something clear.. cpu wise the 1,6 beats my mbp 2.0 cd so dont get fooled by the 1,6ghz... i got a cpu score of 91 to 95 with my air.. (x bench)

everything will work well with the air.. i dont see why everyone is so concerned..
